If Marshall the Dalmatian Firedog is around, why not teach kids what to do if they smell smoke? As long as Rubble the English Bulldog Manual Laborer is on the scene, why not show kids how to practice safety around hand tools?Įven if the show were not callously amoral, it is physically unpleasant to take in. Does a farmer need to harvest his crop? Does a restaurateur need to throw a party? Toss in a rescue dog. Instead of finding clever ways to teach kids everyday virtues, the writers simply throw a rescue dog at every problem. Paw Patrol follows the adventures of a canine emergency-response team, yet it offers zero guidance as to how one should behave during an emergency. It’s one of the few children’s programs that neither tries to entertain parents nor encourages kids to become better people. Lessons like Try new things or Be kind to others or (in the case of Thomas) Suppress your individuality for the sake of the greater good. Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger, PJ Masks and even the openly fascistic Thomas & Friends build their story lines around minor conflicts that provide opportunities to teach life lessons in amusing ways. First, there is the show’s disdain for anything remotely edifying. Take the theme song of the (vastly superior) PJ Masks, the lyrics to which read “Cuz bedtime / Is the right time / To fight crime” when obviously the line should be “Cuz nighttime / Is the right time / To fight crime”! What could possibly explain such an oversight? Nothing nearly so baffling happens in Paw Patrol.Īnd yet Paw Patrol is monstrous. And to be fair, there are kids’ shows with far more puzzling internal contradictions. We’re fine with anthropomorphized animals who wear tops but no bottoms. Does it make sense that the dogs can talk but the cats and chicken can’t? Or that the dogs can operate complex machinery without opposable thumbs? Or that Marshall the Dalmatian personally carries on his body at all times an apparently inexhaustible supply of water? No - but cartoons don’t have to make sense. It’s not the logic of Paw Patrol that bothers me. And so the JV superheroes made their maniacal entrance into our lives, wrapped in a whirlwind of strobe lights and talking dogs and bowling-pin sound effects. Then we entered the uneasy in-between years when the boys no longer tolerated Elmo but weren’t yet ready for superheroes who murder murderers. We started them on our nostalgic favorites - Sesame Street and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood (a spinoff of Mister Rogers’) - and were pleasantly surprised that these shows came across as funny, caring, and true. For the second, we almost made it a full six weeks. My wife and I did our best to shield our sons, now 4 and 6 years old, from screen time for as long as possible. For the first kid, that meant no TV for two years. Otherwise, Paw Patrol is a moral and aesthetic catastrophe. First, the honorable mayor of Adventure Bay is a woman of color. Second, the gray dog named Rocky is really into recycling. Let’s start with the redeeming qualities. Why? Because if their highly compensated employees and key employees invest too heavily into the company’s retirement plan, there’s a chance the plan might not pass those nondiscrimination tests, which could lead to some costly consequences! Safe harbor plans are especially valuable for small businesses with fewer than 100 employees. But here’s the catch: Safe harbor plans require mandatory employer contributions and immediate vesting for employees (that means all employer contributions given to employees belong to the employees the moment those contributions hit their account). Let’s learn more about safe harbor 401(k)s and why they might be a great retirement plan option for your company!Ī safe harbor 401(k) is a type of retirement plan that allows small-business owners to avoid the IRS’s annual nondiscrimination testing. Nope, we’re not talking about retirement plans just for sailors or fishermen! Safe harbor 401(k)s are retirement plans designed to protect companies (small businesses, in particular) from getting in trouble with the IRS. That’s where the safe harbor 401(k) comes in to play. Maybe you’ve already set up a 401(k) plan at your workplace, but all the tests and hoops you have to jump through to meet the IRS’s rules and standards are driving you nuts. One of your many responsibilities as a small-business owner is to find the best way to help your employees save for retirement. If you are a small-business owner, you are the backbone of the American economy-and we salute you! That's the exciting part." - Emeril Lagasse You have to get out there and make things happen.

I dreamt of rapping in three languages – English, Korean and Japanese – so I was really happy to be able to realise that dream. Harvey: “During our five years of training, we’ve been studying English and Korean a lot. What has your experience been like navigating the music industry in three different languages? While you all grew up in Japan, you primarily release English songs and also perform in Korean and Japanese in your YouTube videos. We were actually trainees together when we first started, so I was really happy and inspired to meet her.” Jurin: “Hikaru from Kep1er was with us during that time. XG are trying to blaze a trail of their own. We met her while leaving Liyue, and after Paimon questioned her credibility, she proclaimed to the Traveler that they weren’t from Teyvat. So far, I would say Mona’s story quest has been among the best ones. Witness the Power of Hydromancy, Mona Megistus Oh, and don’t forget to bring some Mora because Mona doesn’t have any. Harnessing the power of hydromancy, let’s learn about Mona’s best weapons, artifacts, and team compositions and seal away the fate of our enemies. Not only is she a loyal friend, but also a supporting character that everyone wants on their account. In this Mona Genshin Impact guide, I will be your guide among the stars and introduce this passionate astrologist whose fate brought her to the Traveler. A young astrologist who wants to seize her destiny and aspires to become a master of her art, Mona. However, there is a person in Teyvat whose astrological predictions always come true. Some of us believe in them, and some don’t.ĭo you believe in a horoscope? Do you think people make their fate themselves? Is everything that’s happening already written in fate? Is it all pseudoscience, or there’s a meaning to your star charts? That’s a hard question to answer in the real world. When it comes to astrology, people have a myriad of beliefs. I wondered whether we could study those shiny stars, and after googling for a while, I came across a unique term, Astrology, the study of celestial objects, like stars, that focused on finding patterns made by stars. Orion, Taurus, Ursa major, I used to spend hours locating these constellations, and I often ended up with gibberish patterns in my notebook. I’m not talking about Genshin Impact’s character constellations, but the ones we read in school times. As a kid, I used to walk under the night sky and tried to draw stars’ constellations in my notebook. All of us have learned about stars in our science classes. Looking at the night sky, have you ever wondered what lies beyond the stars? Maybe more stars, planets, and galaxies than we could estimate. For instance, in the year 2000, Alaska Airlines Flight 261 crashed in California, killing 88 passengers and crew. Since then, forensic odontology has been used to identify the victims of many other major incidents such as plane crashes, fires, and terrorist attacks. Dental remains were also used to identify some of the 126 dead in a fire in Paris in 1897, which prompted the writing of the first textbook on forensic dentistry by the pioneering figure Oscar Amoedo. The first use of dental records in the identification of victims of mass disaster was probably the fire at the Vienna Opera House in 1878. The evidence led to the conviction and execution of a J.W. He proved identity by fitting the prosthesis onto the cast that had been used in its manufacture. In United States courts, dental evidence was first presented in court in 1849 when the incinerated remains of a George Parkman were identified by Nathan Cooley Keep through a partial denture he had made for this patient. The victim had recently been fitted with a denture and this was presented in court as evidence of her identity. Such crimes were not uncommon at the time as the bodies were furnished to medical schools. In a similar case in 1914, a dentist in Scotland helped to identify a corpse in a grave-robbing case. Revere was able to identify Warren's body through the dentures he had made. Warren was buried in a mass grave, but his family wanted the body for a private burial. Joseph Warren, who was killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill that year. In 1775, Paul Revere, famous for alerting American colonists to the approach of British forces, made a set of dentures for a friend, Dr. His teeth were misaligned, so his bite mark guaranteed the documents' authenticity. In another early example of dental identification, William the Conqueror, King of England in the eleventh century, would bite into wax used to seal official documents. He knew she had a discolored front tooth. In the first century a.d., the Roman Emperor Claudius had his mistress, Lollia Paulina, beheaded and then demanded to examine the teeth on the body to ensure the right woman had been put to death. The use of teeth for identification goes back to Roman times. Odontology has been used in many historical cases of identification and crime. These can then be compared to either teeth found on a corpse or to bite marks. Most people have dental records, or these can be created through making a dental impression from a suspect. Although we are all born with the same number and type of teeth, the dental pattern of each individual is unique. Odontology is also used in the analysis of bite marks left at the scene of a crime. Teeth are the most enduring part of the human body, apart from bone. The bodies have been burned or otherwise destroyed. One of its main applications is in the identification of corpses and human remains, especially in mass disasters where other forms of identification may not be available because Odontology is the study of teeth for the investigation of identity and crime. He looked from south America or Mexico to me. And the only rude person in service industry. I told him you are one of the worst person, I have met in my life. His reply was,"talk what, treat what, I am not arguing with you." I was so pissed. I told him "Is this the way you guys talk to your customer and thats how you treat your customer. He said " I don't know about that carry out insurance, and I am not arguing with you." If you want to talk to manager ,come 10 to 5 ". I browsed Dominos website and found out about CARRY OUT INSURANCE. I came back to my car and looked for the way to complain, found none. I told him" you can keep your pizza then". You will have to order a new one if you want another one. He said "well, it was boxed when you took it. I told him about what happened to my pizza, that it wasn't boxed properly and I showed him the whole pizza. There was only that clown, the chef guy present at that time. I tried to contact them immediately, called them first, a lady picked up the phone and said manager will be with you shortly, but put me on hold for 10 min, nobody talked. While I was on the hallway, my pizza slipped off the box coz it wasn't properly boxed and fell on the floor. They ask me to wait 10-15 min, I waited more than 20 min. Jan 1 2023, After working 12 hours, I got to this store at around 7-8 p.m, and ordered buffalo chicken pizza with pineapple toppings worth $20. I am Asian immigrant myself but I am sorry if this is the kinda culture we are adopting and heading toward, the future of USA doesnt look bright to me. I cant believe this store even exist in USA. Safe to say we probably won't come back to this location again. Our family members in the area talked up Domino's so it was pretty disappointing to not only experience pretty bad customer service but also a pizza with a hole and missing ingredients. When we got home we opened up the box to this lovely surprise: a Hawaiian pizza with a hole and no pineapples. They seemed pretty busy so we gave them some grace and didn't make a big deal about the situation. At this point we were just ready to go home and enjoy our pizzas. We literally had to run up so they wouldn't put the pizzas back in the heater. When the name for our order was called, the employee didn't even give us time to walk up to the counter and started to take our pizzas back. We waited about 15 mins until someone finally came up and called out for our order. When we got there, no one was at the front and we weren't helped at all. We went to the store about 35 mins after we placed our order thinking it was ample time for them to get our order ready. Haven't had pizza from Domino's in a while and we're newer in town so we decided to try this location out. |
